What your gift to the United Way will buy......
$1 per week:
- Helps a person earn certification in CPR training.
- Helps a team of kids and seniors work together in a
neighborhood beautification project.
- Gets an emotionally troubled teenager one-month of
free counseling.
- Will provide crafts and therapeutic supplies for 10
campers for a nine-day period.
$2 per week:
- Provides 3 domestic abuse victims with support
counseling and legal advocacy.
- Trains 10 adults to be mentor/tutors for at-risk
adolescents.
- Buys a preschool child from a disadvantaged home 100
days of quality child care to prepare for kindergarten.
- Will provide a weeks worth of groceries to a family
who has fallen victim of a fire.
$3 per week:
- Brings shelter, meals, case management, and
related services to a family left homeless by domestic violence.
- Buys a year's worth of educational materials for a
preschool child.
- Will provide twenty-six flu immunizations.
$10 per week:
- Buys replacement clothing and temporary supplies for a
family who has lost all their possessions in a house fire.
- Buys a mother and child a year of therapeutic
counseling to overcome the scars of physical and/or sexual abuse.
- Provides a young student from a low-income or single
parent family mentoring for one school year.
- Will provide an entire family with a year membership
to the YMCA.
$20 per week:
- Provides 2 children with developmental disabilities
with a private pediatrician, psychologist, and physical therapy sessions for
5 weeks.
- Provides educational material regarding the dangers of
drugs and alcohol to all Indiana County school children.
- Will provide a resident camping experience for 14 Girl
Scouts.

community.
Indiana County has been hit hard by unemployment. When residents encounter economic hardship --- The Salvation
Army helps.
Drugs, alcohol and violence have entered our school
systems. If it is destroying our families, children, and communities ---
The Open Door can help.
The medical field is not the same as it use to be.
Traveling doctors do no exist anymore to come and remedy you in you time of need
--- The Visiting Nurse Association can help.
Children seeking companionship due to
their single parents working long, hard hours just to make ends meet --- Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Indiana County can help.
These are just a few of the agencies and
how they are working to strengthen our community. With everyone working
together in a an attempt to revive out community, the campaign goal can be
easily achieved.
