What Is the United Way?

   The United Way of Indiana County is an organization operated by a volunteer group of local citizens and governed  by a sixty member volunteer Board of Directors.  The United Way operates through the efforts of 300  volunteers and two paid staff members.  The object of the United Way is to eliminate the effort and cost of many separate fund-raising campaigns.  The United Way conducts one annual countywide fund-raising campaign, retaining 98% of the contributions for local use, to provide financial needs to twenty health, welfare, and character-building organizations providing human service in Indiana County.

The United Way of Indiana County is not only a fund-raising organization but it is also a way to serve the community. United Way builds, maintains, and strengthens the community and welfare of Indiana County.
